What do you make
I paint detailed, realistic watercolors, inspired by the nature around me. My paintings are created by using a specific layering technique of transparent watercolor pigments to create a depth of detail not typically seen in watercolors.
Unlike using large and loose strokes of brushwork, I opt for a smaller and controlled application, allowing me to capture a higher level of realism and vibrancy in my pieces.

Where’s home, and what do you like about it
Brule, Alberta - At the foot of the Rocky Mountains and alongside the Athabasca river... My family and I take every chance we get to spend time amidst the rocks, water, and sticks that surround us. Inspiration is everywhere I look - and is the reason I began painting again since childhood.
What’s your origin story? How did you get started with this work?
Moving to to the hamlet of Brule re-inspired me to begin painting again, like I enjoyed to as a child. It's somewhat secluded location, flanked by the mountains and river, offers a spectacular viewpoint of nature.
To me, nature demonstrates and highlights the harmony, order, and unlimited beauty surrounding us, which is why I think I’m so drawn to reproduce it’s creatures and creations!
What pushes and/or inspires you to be creative?
The aspects of nature are always my painting inspiration. My intention for creating any painting is to showcase the beauty, harmony and order of nature that is ever-present. In recent months, my artwork has evolved into incorporating elements of nature to produce meaningful works that share a specific message with others.
How can people purchase your work?
My work can be purchased from my website or by visiting my home studio in Brule.
